About

This task type assesses reading and writing abilities. A passage of approximately 120 to 200 words will be displayed. There will usually be 4 to 5 blanks in the passage. There are 4 to 5 options in a drop-down box for each blank. Your task is to choose the best option for each blank.

Tips

Usually, the answers for the blanks are in the part of the passage just before or maybe just after the blank. So, you don’t have to read the whole passage at once. Pay attention to details while reading, like words with similar meanings or related topics to the blank. Also, work on improving your vocabulary and word combinations. A dictionary can help a lot with this. Knowing grammar is also crucial. It helps you understand how sentences are built, especially long ones.

Time Span

In the reading section, you have a set time of 29 to 30 minutes. FIBRW questions are really important in PTE reading. It’s recommended to use no more than 2 minutes for each FIBRW question. But if you take too long on each one, you might not finish the other reading tasks. So, managing your time well is key.
