About

In the test, you’ll often listen to a talk or conversation for about 40 to 90 seconds. Then, you have to pick 2 or 3 correct answers from 5 to 7 options. If you choose a wrong answer, you’ll lose 1 point, unless it makes your score go below 0. Usually, there’s either one or two questions like this.

Exam Tips

  • Before the audio starts, read the question carefully. Then, listen to the audio, paying attention to the important parts that will help you answer the question. This way, you’ll be more prepared to pick the right answer.
  • For this type of question, you get 1 point for each right answer and lose 1 point for each wrong one. So, only choose the ones you’re sure about. But make sure to choose at least one option.
  • Listening MCQ (Multiple) questions don’t give many points in the Listening Section. So, don’t focus too much on preparing for them for PTE.

Time Span

Listening Multiple Choice (Multiple Answers) questions doesn’t give too many points in the Listening Section. So, try to finish them quickly to focus on more important tasks like WFD. If you’re sure about your answer, you can spend up to 1.5 minutes on each question while the audio is playing. But if you’re not sure, don’t spend too much time. Just make a quick guess right after the audio ends and move on to the next task.

Practice Task

Before you do a mock or real test, try doing a whole set of questions to get used to them. You can use the OnePTE app on Android, or iOS, or website for practice. Also, remember to manage your time well.
