In this question, you’ll hear a quick audio clip, usually 15 to 50 seconds long. While listening, you’ll read a passage. Then, choose the words that are not said correctly in the audio. Be cautious because you lose points for choosing the wrong words. Typically, there are 2 or 3 tasks like this in the question.

Tips

This question type is super easy in the Listening Section and gives a lot of points. No matter what your PTE score goal is, aim for a perfect score here. With practice, you can easily get full marks in a short time.

Time Span

HIW is really important for points in the Listening Section, but don’t spend too long on it. Spend a maximum of 2 minutes on each task.

Practice Goal

  • WHV: Make sure to get a perfect score here.
  • 50 points: Practice on the OnePTE Website at 1.2* speed and get a full mark at the same time.
  • 65 points: Practice on the OnePTE Website at 1.2* speed and get a full mark at the same time.
  • 79 points: Practice on the OnePTE Website at 1.2* speed and get a full mark.

Practice Task

Practice 10 HIW tasks every day. Start at 1.2 times speed and then go faster to 1.5 times. Do one task until you get a perfect score, then move to the next. You can use the OnePTE app on Android, or iOS, or website for practice.
