PTE Academic:

People all over the world know and use it for studying in other countries, applying for all types of visas in Australia and New Zealand, and getting professional certificates.

You can take the PTE Academic test if you want to study at a university anywhere in the world and need to show your English proficiency. You can also take this test if you need a work or immigration visa for Australia or New Zealand. Nursing boards accept this test score in various U.S. states and it can be used when applying for work visas.

1. Applications for Student Visas

You can take the PTE Academic UKVI if you wish to apply for a pre-degree course, undergraduate or lower courses (pre-degree, bridge, transition, or professional English courses), or if you want to study undergraduate or higher level courses at a non-higher education institution (HEI).

Note:

  • According to the UK government regulations, for courses below degree level, you need a CEFR B1 level, which means a total score of 43 on the PTE Academic UKVI test, with at least 43 in each part.
  • According to the UK government regulations, for degree or higher-level courses, you need a CEFR B2 level, which means a total score of 59 on the PTE Academic UKVI test, with at least 59 in each part.

2. Work Visa Requests

If you’re applying for certain types of visas, you can take the PTE Academic UKVI exam:

  • Skilled Worker Visa (previously called Tier 2 General Work Visa)
  • Startup Visa
  • Innovator Visa
  • Minister of Religion visa (Tier 2)

PTE Core:

This test score is accepted by the Canadian government and can only be used for immigration visas, work visas, and permanent residence applications in Canada (but not for student visas). The exam focuses on real-life situations and non-academic content.
